Simon is the founding director of Traverse Environmental. With over 15 years’ experience in the environmental planning sector, Simon has worked extensively with local government, Iwi and private sector clients on a wide range of environmental projects. Simon’s specialist areas include natural hazards planning, facilitation, process design, resource consenting and community engagement. Simon is also a qualified mediator, with accreditation from the Arbitrators and Mediators Association of New Zealand.
Senior Environmental Planner
Deborah has worked as an environmental planning consultant since 2015, following various planning and compliance roles at local authorities in Auckland, the Manawatu and the UK. She joined Traverse Environmental in 2019. Deborah’s specialist areas include policy development, regional and district plan reviews, process development and guidance, project and process management and the preparation of resource consent applications. With her family background in dairy farming in the Central North Island, she has particular interests in rural land use issues and freshwater management.
Rachel is a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute and has broad experience in environmental planning and policy. She has previously worked in planning roles in Wellington, Taupō, Auckland and the UK. She has particular expertise in land use planning and planning at a district level and is our lead advisor on resource consenting requirements in the built environment.
